Laser & Light Therapy // Modal Code: BBL-HERO

Broadband light phototherapy dismantles stubborn epidermal pigment and vascular erythema across the face and neck.

Sciton BBL Hero delivers high-peak-power pulsed light calibrated between 420nm and 1400nm to fragment solar lentigines and coagulate microvascular redness without ablating surface tissue. Operated directly at 130 North Tryon Street in Charlotte by Casey Finch, LE/LI.

Verified Operator Price Basis
$450 – $850 USD per session
Duration: 45–60 min Downtime: 0 days raw peeling

Pricing is determined by anatomical zone (full face, neck extension, or décolleté add-on), target lesion density, and required pass counts. The overall face and neck laser tier at SkinLuxes ranges from $385 to $1,880 USD.

Photothermal coagulation targets pigment without surface cuts.

Broadband light energy converts into thermal pulses within targeted chromophores while active contact cooling preserves epidermal integrity.

Precision Optical Cut-offs

When performing a bbl laser face and neck treatment, we do not guess pulse fluences or sweep broad generic heat across compromised tissue. Melanin and oxyhemoglobin have specific photothermal absorption curves. Solar lentigines (sun spots) absorb short visible wavelengths between 515nm and 560nm, causing rapid micro-coagulation within basal keratinocytes without destabilizing the surrounding collagen matrix.

For facial telangiectasia and persistent post-inflammatory erythema, we swap the magnetic optical crystal to a 590nm or 640nm vascular cut-off. This confines light absorption strictly to hemoglobin in ectatic micro-vessels. The vessel walls warm to 70°C, collapsing the dilated capillary lumen so the body resorbs it over two to three weeks.

Clinical Target Optical Filter Fluence Range Sapphire Temp
Epidermal Freckling & Lentigines 515 nm 10 – 14 J/cm² 15°C Chilled
Diffuse Facial Rosacea 560 nm 11 – 15 J/cm² 12°C Chilled
Discrete Telangiectasia 590 nm 14 – 18 J/cm² 10°C Chilled
Dermal Collagen Maintenance SkinTyte 800nm 8 – 12 J/cm² 20°C Chilled
"High peak power allows shorter pulse durations. We deliver lethal thermal energy to the pigment packet in under fifteen milliseconds, preventing collateral heat spread into surrounding healthy tissue."

Full Face Corrective Pass

$450 – $650

Two complete passes over cheek, temple, forehead, and jawline contours. Pass one utilizes high-repetition gliding motion for diffuse redness and background photodamage; pass two delivers targeted single pulses to isolated sun lentigines.

Session Time: 45 minutes • Chilled ultrasound coupling gel

Face & Neck Extended Series

$650 – $850

Extends phototherapy down the submental angle and anterior neck tissue where chronic solar poikiloderma of Civatte accumulates. We drop fluences by 15% along the neck to account for thinner dermal thickness and fewer pilosebaceous units.

Session Time: 60 minutes • Dedicated thyroid avoidance zone

For clients seeking deeper epidermal remodeling or structural dermal collagen synthesis, BBL is frequently paired in cyclical regimens with our Halo hybrid fractional laser or gentle Moxi 1927nm diode treatment. Alternatively, if deeper follicular cystic acne is active, we recommend stepping to the Aerolase 1064nm laser before beginning broad-spectrum light passes.

Anatomical zones dictate energy parameters.

Neck tissue heals on a different biological timeline than facial skin due to fewer sebaceous glands and reduced capillary density.

Pricing band: $450 to $850 USD

Four deliberate stages from prep to post-cooling.

Every session follows an aseptic clinical procedure with strict optical eye shields and chilled gel interface.

Aseptic Laser Procedure
Step 1: Clinical Degreasing & Ocular Shielding
Duration: 10 minutes • 70% IPA prep

Surface sebum and mineral sunscreens reflect light pulses. The skin is cleansed with medical lipid solvent, followed by the placement of certified blackout stainless steel laser safety goggles.

Step 2: Chilled Coupling Gel Application
Temperature: 4°C • Clear acoustic medium

A 3mm layer of chilled acoustic gel is smoothed over the treatment zone. This eliminates microscopic air pockets between the sapphire crystal block and the epidermal stratum corneum.

Step 3: Dual-Vector Gliding & Target Pulses
Pass Count: 2 to 3 passes • 45 minutes

Casey Finch navigates the handpiece in perpendicular overlapping vectors at 3 to 4 pulses per second. Isolated dark lentigines receive individual stamped pulses with immediate visual darkening (micro-crusting).

Step 4: Thermal Soothing & Barrier Seal
Duration: 10 minutes • Zinc oxide finish

Gel is removed with chilled saline sponges. Skin is misted with thermal water, treated with pure hyaluronic acid, and sealed under a non-nano physical zinc oxide mineral shield.

The integrated sapphire contact block maintains a continuous 15°C temperature against the skin, numbing sensory nerve endings prior to light discharge. Most clients describe the feeling as a quick warm rubber-band snap that dissipates in under one second. Topical numbing is rarely required.
Mild erythema resembling a moderate sunburn lasts for 2 to 4 hours. Over the next 24 to 48 hours, treated brown spots turn darker and look like fine coffee grounds on the surface. These naturally slough off over 4 to 7 days during regular gentle washing. You can apply mineral makeup immediately the next morning.
Anyone with active sun exposure, recent tanning bed use, or self-tanning lotion within the last three weeks is disqualified to prevent hyperpigmentation burns. Clients on oral isotretinoin within 6 months, or those with Fitzpatrick skin types V and VI, cannot safely receive broadband light. For darker Fitzpatrick skin tones, we refer clients to our Aerolase Neo 1064nm laser or gentle PCA chemical peels.

Clear criteria on who we treat and who we decline.

We do not compromise biological safety margins for a sale. If your skin barrier or pigment type is unsuitable, we tell you plainly.
